This led to a lot of tension/caused unnecessary conflict/created a real mess, and in the end, it really hurt/I ended up losing/Things didn't go well at all.

It's easy/so common/human nature to make mistakes, but the most important thing is to learn from them. We can use them as stepping stones/Let's turn them into valuable lessons/Hopefully, they'll help us grow and make better decisions in the future/navigate life with more wisdom/avoid repeating those same errors.
